"My two wheel days started
when I was a little boy and we had conduit bent at the local hardware store, welded it together, mounted a motor and rode our newly created doodlebugs around town."

"Riding Montana"

The Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountain Northwest are a motorcyclists paradise. Snow-capped mountains, glaciers, incredible views and sinuous byways provide endless miles that are a riders dream come true. We have spent many years and thousands of miles exploring these scenic roads and sharing our favorites with enthusiastic touring riders.

The ideal candidate to participate in our tours is a motorcyclist with an appreciation for the ride and an itch to explore back roads and open spaces- but doesn't have time to put a trip together.

Our routes are generally full-day rides. Daily mileage varies, averaging 300 miles, but we generally do not spend a lot of time in midday stopping for a two hour lunch or shopping soiree. There is just too much to see!

We are here to ride. There is much to see and do along our routes, and we encourage tour participants to optimize their experience according to their interests. Safety is an important ingredient in touring, however, so for the most part, we will explore together. Tours have been designed for time to rest on each end of the day with side trips matched with ability. Accomodations are made in quaint out-of-the-way B&Bs, log cabins, offering optimum comfort with a touch of western atmosphere.

My best days are those spent
in the saddle of an iron horse.

"Northwest Motorcycle Tours is the culmination of a long term dream of mine. I have been a dedicated motorcyclist for over forty years, touring for decades, planning and organizing trips, and sharing my discoveries and enthusiasm with other riders. To know me is to realize that I am likely to talk your ear off about a great ride.

I fell in love early, often piecing together conduit and adding motors, then sputtering around town on my handmade two-wheel doodlebug until I could afford to buy my first motorcycle at age 16. I've ridden Hondas and Harleys and everything in between. It doesn't really matter.

I paid my way through college teaching Motorcycle Safety classes, and graduated in Communications from the University of Minnesota. My final thesis project involved a 30-minute film on motorcycle safety. Since then I have logged over 170,000 miles on my bike, touring all over the Midwest, the Pacific Northwest, Montana, the Canadian Rockies, and many times back and forth to Sturgis, South Dakota from Washington State or Whitefish, Montana.

I own the company and am the guide for all of the tours, bringing my vast experience and genuine enthusiasm for sport touring to every ride.

I make all the arrangements, including help with rentals through various dealerships, and am pretty handy with a motorcycle engine. I will be the one you will talk to regarding your trip. I welcome any suggestions, recommendations, or ideas you may have to make your trip more enjoyable, including if there is someplace specific you want to go.

Take a look at the tours I offer. Then let's talk. I look forward to having you join me."
